About the church

What we believe

Why the church exists, what it holds to be true, and the three words it keeps coming back to.

Our vision and mission

Four aims, and everything the church does is meant to answer to one of them.

  • To church the unchurched.
  • To raise disciples, whom we call global change agents, all over the world.
  • To build believers up in word and in spirit.
  • Towards excellence in life and godliness.

What we hold to be true

1

Salvation comes by putting our faith in Christ alone, and in His finished work.

2

The life we have in Christ Jesus is eternal in quality, not only in length.

John 3:15–16Colossians 1:21–23
3

God’s word is effective, and it is final.

4

The blessings of the Spirit are real, and they meet us in the work of the ministry, in godliness and in our material lives.

Transition · Transformation · Transfiguration

Three words the church returns to, and a change each one names.

Transition

The mandate to save the lost. It is where everything else begins.

John 5:24Colossians 1:12–14

Transformation

Studying God’s word is part of our culture. We are transformed when we are baptised into the Word.

2 Corinthians 3:18

Transfiguration

This one hangs on a culture of fervent and consistent prayer. When we pray we are changed: all round, and in ways you can measure.

Luke 9:28–29
Our motto

Raising global change agents

It is taken from the last instruction Jesus gave before He ascended: to go and make disciples of all nations.

Matthew 28:19–20

It is also what our name means. A cosmopolitan is someone able to influence the world, and equally at home anywhere in it. So we raise disciples who will change the world, wherever in it they happen to live.

Come and see for yourself

Two services on a Sunday morning, at 9:30am and 10:30am. Come to either one.
